Introduction:

Mardi Himal Trekking, of pure wilderness with exceptional adventure around Nepal Mid-West Himalaya of Annapurna range of mountains. Mardi Himal one of the least trekked areas but slowly getting popular due its remoteness and pristine surrounding where walk leads you on high ridges with incredible panorama of Annapurna-Dhaulagiri and Manaslu mountains with
majestic Machhapuchare “Fish Tail’.

Mardi Himal listed as Nepal Trekking peaks with an altitude of above 5,587 m high, located beneath towering Mt. Machhapuchare (unclimbed and virgin peak of Himalaya) southern directions, forming a rocky hills and ridges, the area around Mardi also called as “Other Sanctuary” due to its closeness with Annapurna range of peaks.

Mardi Himal Trekking begins from picturesque Pokhara valley a beautiful place blessed with natural beautiness of serene lakes Phewa and Begnas where high Annapurna Himalaya reflects on the lake, a short drive leads to our trekking point and then following the mid hill trail through enchanting forest of tall rhododendron-magnolia-pines and oak trees, and walking past traditional farm villages of Gurung communities to reach our highlight and main destination at Mardi Himal base camp in the comfort of nice-cozy lodges along the walk.

After an enjoyable and wonderful time around Mardi areas and its base camp at 4,500 m our highest spot of the trek, then heading downhill to catch a drive back to Pokhara, with glorious and exciting moment on the high hills of Annapurna around Mardi Himal Trekking.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 01: Reach Kathmandu via respective airlines and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu sightseeing tour at places of interest.
Day 03: Drive or fly to Pokhara 950m (30 minute flight and 6 hrs drive)
Day 04: Drive to Kande (trek point) with 3 hrs walk to Potana 1,900m.
Day 05: Trek to Kokar Forest camp 2,520 m via Deurali 2,100 m – 05 hrs.
Day 06: Trek to Low Camp 2,970 m – 05 hrs.
Day 07: Trek to High Camp 3,700 m – 05 hrs.
Day 08: Rest day at High Camp for acclimatization and short hike.
Day 09: Trek to Siding village 1,750m | 5,740ft – 06 hrs.
Day 10: Trek to Mardipul and drive back to Pokhara with afternoon free.
Day 11: Drive to Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel.
Day 12: Final International departure homeward bound.

Day 01: Reach Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
On reaching Kathmandu International Airport received by our staff and guide with warm welcome then a short drive to your hotel in the main areas of Kathmandu city, here joining with other members of Mardi Himal trekking, our guide will brief with full information about the trek - hotels-culture with do’s and don’ts, include welcome dinner in a nice Nepali restaurant with folk programs.

Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.
As per the given time for sightseeing tour around Kathmandu, after breakfast our city and tour guide will pick you with short interesting drive for an impressive and exciting tour, Kathmandu although a metropolitan city retaining its ancient culture and traditions, where most of the World Heritage Sites are located for your interest, includes medieval period custom and culture as it was for hundreds of centuries, Kathmandu valley a blend of Buddhism and Hinduism in perfect harmony, after an interesting tour afternoon free preparation for Mardi Himal trekking.

Day 03: Drive to Pokhara 820m (220km) - 06hrs.
Mardi Himal trek starts with an exciting overland drive on busy highway to reach scenic Pokhara, on reaching Pokhara transfer to respective hotels by the beautiful Phewa Lake where most of the hotels are located.  (For interested people can take a short scenic flight to Pokhara of 30 minutes)

Day 04: Drive to Kande 1,770 m and begin trek to Potana village 1,900 m - 04 hrs.
From Pokhara our adventure starts with exciting short drive towards mid hills of Annapurna to reach at Kande located on the road side of Pokhara / Beni highway.

From here an hour or more climb through cool shade of the forest brings you at wonderful spot at Thulo-Kharka popularly called as Australian Camp where you can rest with exceptional views of whole Annapurna mountain range with Manaslu peaks including magnificent Machhapuchare ‘Fish Tail’ and Mardi Himal. From this scenic spot downhill walk to Potana another village with fantastic views for overnight stop. 

Day 05: Trek to Kokar Forest camp 2,520m via Deurali 2,100m - 04 hrs.
After a peaceful overnight stop in Potana with fabulous views, morning walk leads on main trekking trail for few hours at Deurali with views of peaks. After Deurali heading north along the ridgeline into serene forested area with cool temperature with panorama of Annapurna I and South with Huinchuli to the east Annapurna IV -II and Lamjung Himal and then reaching our overnight stop in the middle of forest where few lodges are located for trekkers.

Day 06: Trek to Forest camp to Low Camp 2,970 m - 04 hrs.
From this forest area, walk leads higher on uphill path with steep climb to reach a pasture land for overnight stop on route Mardi base camp with fantastic views of surrounding landscapes and mountains at close range.

Day 07: Trek to High camp 3, 700 m - 05 hrs.
This wonderful area offering grand vista of beautiful landscapes and snow-clad peaks in perfect tranquility heading higher to reach at High Camp as the air gets thinner and cooler with steep climb to reach at High Camp where tree lines fades to short rhododendron and juniper bushes.

Here at High Camp with a lonely lodge for overnight accommodation with basic facilities commanding super views of Annapurna Himalaya.

Day 08: Explore beyond High Camp to Mardi West Base Camp 4,500m.
Here with another night stop to explore beyond High Camp with day hike to Mardi Himal higher ridge reaching the highest point of this trek at 4,500 meters.

Walk leads to a steep climb along a ridgeline to reach a hidden plateau at the base of Mardi Himal South Face with towering Mt. Machhapuchare; this area known as 'Other Sanctuary' named by early pioneer Jimmy Roberts, when he first explored this area in early 1970's. After enjoying the views of super mountain panorama return back on same route to our overnight stop.

Day 09: Trek to Siding village 1,750m | 5,740ft - 06 hrs.
After a fabulous time on the high ridges of Mardi Himal with beautiful views and back into forest of rhododendron and pines trees, retracing the journey back on same trail at Jungle Camp and beyond with more downhill walk to reach at Sidang village located between the junction to another East and West route to Mardi Himal on warmer area for overnight stop before ending this lovely trek next day.

 

Day 10: From walk to Mardi Pul and drive back to Pokhara - 05 hrs.
Our last day walk of this fabulous adventure on the hidden trails of Annapurna region walk follows Mardi River on the wide valley reaching warmer areas of rice / paddy farm villages and finally walk ends at Mardi village for a short drive back to Pokhara for overnight stop by the serene Phewa Lake.

Day 11: Drive back to Kathmandu by tourist bus transfer to hotel.
Enjoying time in lovely Pokhara with glorious views, morning depart for Kathmandu with an interesting overland drive to Kathmandu after a grand time on the high hills of Annapurna around Mardi Himal trekking, in Kathmandu afternoon free for individual activities and shopping souvenirs.

(option by air 30 minutes of scenic flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu)

Day 12: International departure for home ward bound.
Your last day in Nepal, amazing country of Himalayan wonders, as per your flight time leaving your hotel where our staff transfers you to airport, after a great memorable adventure with enjoyable time on Mardi Himal Trekking.

Q. Will somebody come to pick me up at the airport upon my arrival?

A. Absolutely! Our Airport Representative will come to the airport to pick you up. Outside of Terminal Hall, he will be displaying a play card of Nepal Everest Base Camp  Treks with your name on it.

Q. What type of accommodation do I expect while I am in Kathmandu & Mountain?

A. Excellent!! Our company will provide you five star category hotels in Kathmandu Radission Hotel and Del’ Annapurna or similar category with inclusive breakfast & best available accommodation duration the trekking as per your programs.

Q. What type of shape do I need to be for this trip?

A. This is suitable for average people who are good health & moderately fit, thus no previous experience is required however to get condition for this trip, some physical fitness programs such as running, swimming, hiking is recommended before you embark on journey. Person who is suffering from pre-existing diseases must seek medical advice with your doctor before considering the any trekking in Nepal. Whilst on the trek, it is common to experience some discomfort before being fully acclimatized.

Q. What is the best time for Trek?

A. We recommend you anytime between 15th February to 15th June in spring & 15th September to 10th December in autumn and spring season is the best time for trek, however, rest of the months are okay and trekking can be done but not as much as nice comparing those season due to winter & raining respectably.But when you will be get leisure time that we can provide prime and suitable trip for you.

Q. Is the food/water safe to drink during the trek?

A. During in mountain, your expert guide will advise you on what you should and shouldn’t eat and drink. The food at the places you will be staying is all safe to eat. Water you can buy bottled or bring along purification tablets. Every lodges/guest house also serve both boiled and filtered water on cheaper price for you to treat accordingly.

Q. I am alone ! Can I join in group?

A. Excellent! If you are not interesting travel alone, we do have several joining trip on every different route, please choose your suitable departure date.

Q. Do you offer Tailor-made Trip?

Q. Can I charge camera batteries along the trek? and how much?

A. Yes, Most of the guest houses you can recharge your camera batteries along the trek approximately cost you USD 2-3 per hour.

Q. What is the weather & temperature like in mountain?

A. Weather in the mountains is notoriously difficult to predict. At night it is generally cooler the days are generally warm. There will be snow during the month of December and February. It is important to make sure that you can stay warm and dry in just about any conditions. Expect the unexpected! The temperature could be as high as 21 deg C to -10 deg C low.

Q. How long have you been in business?

Q. How much should I plan on spending for each meal not included in Kathmandu?

A. In Kathmandu, you can allocate US$ 15 – 20 per meal.

A. It is compulsory !! Nepal High  Trek Pvt. Ltd. cannot be held responsible or liable for loss, damage, or theft of personal luggage and belongings, nor can they be held liable for personal injury, accident or illness. Please ensure that you have yourself and your belongings adequately insured before your departure. If you do not possess a policy, we can issue insurance at competitive rates, however it would be better to purchase your policy locally as this will cover you for repatriation back to your home country.
