Trip Introduction

Annapurna Base Camp Trek is an amazing destinations where all types of travelers can join in this wonderful exotic holiday within Annapurna Sanctuary encircled with high snow capped peaks. Starting from low warmer sub-tropical temperatures within verdant vegetation and green hills and valleys around scenic and unique Pokhara, a popular and famed touristic spot blessed with mountain views which reflect on its serene Phewa lake and Begnas Lakes. Journey leads on the outskirt of Pokhara valley with short drive to the starting point of trekking following the raging glacial Modi River upstream right up to its source at Annapurna Base Camp.

As the walk begins with gradual walks through many lovely farm villages and fields then a climb on stone paved steps bringing you at wonderful Gurung village at Ghandruk also called as Ghandrung, the Gurung tribe famous as gallantry soldiers in overseas India-UK and Singapore. Walk continues as the air gets cooler with daily views of Annapurna range of peaks with majestic Machhapuchare ‘Fish Tail’ one of the virgin mountains. Journey takes you into lovely cool alpine forest of tall rhododendron-oaks-pines-firs and magnolia tree lines to enter the last permanent village at Chomrong 2,160m high populated by Gurung people interwoven with Buddhism religion and also practice Bon (pre Buddhism) sect of animism.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek can be done in many ways from beautiful Pokhara, taking a week duration or more one can trek clock wise or anti clock wise with a visit to Ghorepani and Poon Hill, a famous spot for stunning sunrise over 600 k.m wide mountain range from Dhaulagiri-Annapurna-Manaslu range as far to Ganesh Himal towards eastern horizon. Outline Itinerary:

Day 01: Reach Kathmandu via respective airlines and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu sightseeing tour at places of interest.
Day 03: Drive or fly to Pokhara 950m (30 mins flight and 6 hrs drive)
Day 04: Drive to Nayapul 1,100m and trek to Ghandruk 1,951m – 05 hrs.
Day 05: Trek to Chomrong 2,170m – 06 hrs.
Day 06: Trek to Dovan 2,130m via Bamboo 2,050m – 06 hrs.
Day 07: Trek to Machhapuchare Base Camp 3,720m – 06 hrs.
Day 08: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4,130m – 04 hrs.
Day 09: Trek to Bamboo – 06 hrs.
Day 10: Trek to Jhinu danda with hot spring 1,780m – 06 hours.
Day 11: Trek to Potana 1,900 m – 05 hrs.
Day 12: Trek to Kande 1,460m and drive to Pokhara.
Day 13: Drive or fly back to Kathmandu afternoon free at leisure.
Day 14: International departure homeward bound.

Day 01: Reach Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
On reaching Kathmandu International Airport received by our staff and guide with warm welcome then a short drive to your hotel in the main areas of Kathmandu city, here joining with other members of Annapurna Base Camp & Sanctuary trekking, our guide will brief with full information about the trek - hotels-culture with do’s and don’ts, include welcome dinner in a nice Nepali restaurant with folk programs.

Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.
As per the given time for sightseeing tour around Kathmandu, after breakfast our city and tour guide will pick you with short interesting drive for an impressive and exciting tour, Kathmandu although a metropolitan city retaining its ancient culture and traditions, where most of the World Heritage Sites are located for your interest, includes medieval period custom and culture as it was for hundreds of centuries, Kathmandu valley a blend of Buddhism and Hinduism in perfect harmony, after an interesting tour afternoon free preparation for Annapurna Base Camp & Sanctuary trekking.

Day 03: Drive to Pokhara 820m (220km) - 06hrs.
Annapurna Base Camp & Sanctuary trek starts with an exciting overland drive on busy highway to reach scenic Pokhara, on reaching Pokhara transfer to respective hotels by the beautiful Phewa Lake where most of the hotels are located. 
(For interested people can take a short scenic flight to Pokhara of 30 minutes)

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul 1,100m and trek to Ghandruk 1,951m - 05 hrs.  
After an enjoyable overnight in Pokhara with wonderful views of Annapurna, morning taking 2 hrs drive o the outskirt of Pokhara to reach our starting point of the trek at Nayapul, from here following Modi Rive for few hours passing nice Bhirethati village and many farm villages on a pleasant path, after few hours of good walk our journey leads to a climb on stone steps to a lovely village at Ghandruk for overnight with grand views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchare “Fish Tail”.

This is one of the large Gurung people village around Annapurna with time explore this nice village with a view.

Day 05: Trek to Chomrong village at 2,170m - 06 hrs.
Morning along with super views of Annapurna and Fish Tail peak walk leads through lovely forest and then uphill on winding path to reach at Kimrong village located on a ridge, from here downhill within forested area to Kimrong river, where few hours of climb brings you at Chomrong village with grand views of Annapurna South, Huinchuli and majestic face of Mt. Machhapuchare “Fish Tail”

Chomrong another large Gurung village, famous as Gorkha in UK and Indian armies, besides as brave soldiers they are farmers and Cattle herders of Tibetan Buddhist religions, this will be last permanent village before Annapurna base camp, beyond are just small settlement with lodges to cater the needs of trekkers.

Day 06: Trek to Dovan 2,130m via Bamboo 2,050m - 06 hrs.
Morning starts with downhill walk to a river, crossing a short bridge with uphill to Sinuwa at 2,360 m high, a scenic spot with few nice lodges, walk from here leads into cool forested area of oaks-rhododendron and pines trees and then a short steep descend to Bamboo a small settlement with 5-6 lodges surrounded by bamboo trees, on Modi River gorge.

After Bamboo an hour or more of slow climb brings at Dovan for overnight stop located within Modi River Gorge with couple of lodge for overnight stay.

Day 07: Trek to Machhapuchare Base Camp 3,720 via Deurali 3,200 m - 05 hrs.
After a nice overnight stop at Dovan with the sound of raging Modi River, morning walk leads higher through thick forested area reaching at Himalaya Hotel located beneath Huichuli peak and large overhanging Hinko Cave. From downhill by the Modi River crossing ablation of old avalanches of rocky moraine, then a short climb brings at Deurali after leaving the gorge area to more wide open area. From Deurali after lunch stop heading higher leaving the tree lines behind following the raging glacial Modi River all the way to Machhapuchare base camp at 3,700 m high for overnight stop, located beneath towering North Face of the Fish Tail Mountain.

Day 08: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4,130 m - 03 hrs.
Finally our walk leads into beautiful Annapurna Sanctuary and at Annapurna Base Camp, walk leads higher for few hours to reach the sanctuary with beautiful amphitheatre of peaks that surrounds this wonderful place.

After few hours of pleasant walk brings you to our highest spot of the adventure at Annapurna base camp with 4,130 meters high.

Afternoon relax and enjoy the views of Annapurna I (8,091m / 26,545ft) Annapurna South (7,219m-23,693ft), Gangapurna (7,455m-24,457ft) and Annapurna III (7,555m-24,787ft), including to Mt. Machhapuchare (Fish-tail) at 6,790 m stretches up towards Tent Peak / Tharpu Chuli and Fluted Peaks or Singu Chuli.

Day 09: Trek back to Bamboo 2310m - 06 hrs.
After a enjoyable moment at base camp and Annapurna Sanctuary return journey with much downhill walks back into tree lines and with few short ups to reach at Bamboo for overnight stop.

Day 10: Trek to Jhinu Danda (hot-spring) 1,780 m - 05 hrs.
From Bamboo leaving the Modi River and the gorge behind climb up to Khuldi-Ghar into forested area, and then a short gradual walk to Sinuwa danda, from here descend to Chomrong River, and then climb on steps to Chomrong for lunch stop.

After Chomrong a short climb to the top ridge and then changing our direction from here with an alternative route to reach Pokhara, a short downhill walk brings at scenic and lovely Jhinu village for overnight stop, located on a ridge top with views of surrounding landscapes and rolling green hills. A short descend of 25 minutes reaches you at hot-spring by the Modi River.

Day 11: Trek to Potana 1,800 m via Landruk - 06 hrs.
After nice break at Jhinu village morning walk downhill on stone steps reaching at another Nayapul (New Bridge), from here on crossing a long suspension bridge, a short climb to reach another large village at Landruk.  After a short rest with commanding views walk is easier on winding trails with few short and up and down to reach at Tolka village with grand views of Annapurna South and Huinchuli.

From here on gradual trail with few short ups and down, passing village Bheda Kharka, and then an hour or less climb into cool forest to reach at Pitam Deurali at 2,100 meters high, offering grand views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Huinchuli, Mt. Machhapuchare and of Ghandruk village.

 From Deurali downhill through forest to Potana village for last overnight stop on the high hills of Annapurna.

Day 12: Walk to Kande 1,770 m via Australian camp and drive to Pokhara.
Morning with fabulous views of snowcapped peaks, our last day trek continues into cool forest with uphill to Thulo Kharka also popularly called Australian Camp, a scenic spot located on a large meadows with parallel views of Annapurna and Manaslu range of mountains.

Our final walk of this adventure leads downhill to road head at Kande village for the drive back at picturesque Pokhara by the serene Phewa Lake after an hour of exciting drive.

Day 13: Drive back to Kathmandu by tourist bus transfer to hotel.
Enjoying time in lovely Pokhara with glorious views, morning depart for Kathmandu with an interesting overland drive to Kathmandu after a grand time at Annapurna Base Camp & Sanctuary trekking, in Kathmandu afternoon free for individual activities and shopping souvenirs.

Day 14: International departure for homeward bound.
Your last day in Nepal, amazing country of Himalayan wonders, as per your flight time leaving your hotel where our staff transfers you to airport, after a great memorable adventure with enjoyable time on Annapurna base camp & Sanctuary Trekking.

Q. Will somebody come to pick me up at the airport upon my arrival?

A. Absolutely! Our Airport Representative will come to the airport to pick you up. Outside of Terminal Hall, he will be displaying a play card of Nepal Everest Base Camp  Treks with your name on it.

Q. What type of accommodation do I expect while I am in Kathmandu & Mountain?

A. Excellent!! Our company will provide you five star category hotels in Kathmandu Radission Hotel and Del’ Annapurna or similar category with inclusive breakfast & best available accommodation duration the trekking as per your programs.

Q. What type of shape do I need to be for this trip?

A. This is suitable for average people who are good health & moderately fit, thus no previous experience is required however to get condition for this trip, some physical fitness programs such as running, swimming, hiking is recommended before you embark on journey. Person who is suffering from pre-existing diseases must seek medical advice with your doctor before considering the any trekking in Nepal. Whilst on the trek, it is common to experience some discomfort before being fully acclimatized.

Q. What is the best time for Trek?

A. We recommend you anytime between 15th February to 15th June in spring & 15th September to 10th December in autumn and spring season is the best time for trek, however, rest of the months are okay and trekking can be done but not as much as nice comparing those season due to winter & raining respectably.But when you will be get leisure time that we can provide prime and suitable trip for you.

Q. Is the food/water safe to drink during the trek?

A. During in mountain, your expert guide will advise you on what you should and shouldn’t eat and drink. The food at the places you will be staying is all safe to eat. Water you can buy bottled or bring along purification tablets. Every lodges/guest house also serve both boiled and filtered water on cheaper price for you to treat accordingly.

Q. I am alone ! Can I join in group?

A. Excellent! If you are not interesting travel alone, we do have several joining trip on every different route, please choose your suitable departure date.

Q. Can I charge camera batteries along the trek? and how much?

A. Yes, Most of the guest houses you can recharge your camera batteries along the trek approximately cost you USD 2-3 per hour.

Q. What is the weather & temperature like in mountain?

A. Weather in the mountains is notoriously difficult to predict. At night it is generally cooler the days are generally warm. There will be snow during the month of December and February. It is important to make sure that you can stay warm and dry in just about any conditions. Expect the unexpected! The temperature could be as high as 21 deg C to -10 deg C low.

Q. How much should I plan on spending for each meal not included in Kathmandu?

A. In Kathmandu, you can allocate US$ 15 – 20 per meal.
