Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and check-in to Hotel

On your arrival to Kathmandu at TIA, a representative of Nepal High Trek will warmly welcome you to Nepal. He/She will guide you towards the room of hotel of Nepal booked for you. Arrival day can be either rest day or sightseeing day of Kathmandu valley. The night will be at the hotel with the discussion about the tour and enjoying the delicious dinner.

Day 02: Full Day Sightseeing Tour of Kathmandu Valley and Pre-trip Preparation

Today, we spend the whole for the sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Valley with guide. After having breakfast, we visit Pashupatinath, which is regarded as the holiest temple of Lord Shiva then to Bauddhanath known as Little Tibet. From Bauddhanath, we visit Swayambhunath known as Monkey Temple   which is an ancient religious place for Buddhist. After Swayambhunath, we drive to Kathmandu (Basantpur) Durbar Square. Finally, you will have dinner at hotel and stay there overnight.

Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Arughat (640m) – 8 Hours

Today, we will start our trek to manasalu tusm valley. We will drive to Arughat from Kathmandu valley. We drive through the route of Dhading Besi to reach Arughat. Our journey will be around eight hours for our bus to get there. After reaching there we stay overnight there.

Day 04: Trek from Arughat to Soti Khola (775m) – 6 Hours

From Arughat, we continue our journey following the Budhi Gandaki River. We will pass through the village of Molder and Simre then reach Arkhat River. We move upward slowly to Kyoropani. We will set up our camp near the confluence of Seti River. We can have bath in Seti River and stay overnight at tented camps.

Day 05: Trek from Soti Khola to Machha Khola (900m) – 6 Hours

After soti khola we walk down till we climb again to mountain ridge to Almara. Then we pass the forest to reach Riden Gaon. After reaching Lambeshi, we will follow sandy river bed of Budhi Gandaki. We will stay night at Machha Khola.

Day 06: Trek from Machha Khola to Jagat (1340m) – 6 Hours

Early morning after breakfast we walk to Khrola Besi. We move to Tatopani and enjoy natural hot spring. We will follow trail through the forest. Then we will reach Dovan and to Jagat. We will stay night at tented accommodation.

Day 07: Trek from Jagat to Chisopani (1660m) – 4 Hours

From Jagat we climb over a rocky ridge to Salleri and descend to Sirdibas to reach Ghatta Khola. We will continue upstream to a long simple suspension bridge and reach Gurung settlement of Philim. From there we trek further to Chisopani where we stay night.

Day 08: Trek from Chisopani to Chumling (2386m) – 6 Hours

After having breakfast, we walk towards Ekle Bhatti and enter into the pine forest. We descend towards Tsum Valley. From there we enter into the dense forest of pine and rhododendrons. By looking the magnificent Himalayan ranges, we will reach Chumling where we stay overnight.

Day 09: Trek from Chumling to Chhokangparo (3010m) – 5 Hours

Today, we walk uphill and descend to cross the bridge. We will pass through Rainjham and reach the vally of Tsum. Chhokangparo is known to be the largest village of Tsum valley. There we will enjoy with people and stay overnight at tented accommodation.

Day 10: Trek from Chhokangparo to Nile (3361m) – 7 Hours

From Chhokanparo, we walk forward for Lama Gaun. We will cross the monasteries and Gompa. We will climb the Milarepa’s Cave and visit Buddhist meditation centers. We will trek through Phurbe and Pang and reach the village of Nile. We stay overnight at tented accommodation in Nile.

Day 11: Trek from Nile to Mu Gompa (3700m) – 3 Hours

Early morning after breakfast, we ascend to Mu Gompa passing through monastery of Tsum Valley. Mu Gompa is located at the highest point of Tsum Valley. So we hike around this village exploring Kalung and visit Dhephyudonma Gompa. We stay overnight by enjoying at tented accommodation.

Day 12: Exploration at Mu Gompa

Today is the rest day. We explore the whole Mu Gompa region in day time. Mu Gompa is the largest monastery in the region and is located at the highest point of Tsum Valley. After visiting whole day we will return back and stay overnight at tented accommodation.

Day 13: Trek from Mu Gompa to Burgi Village (3245m) via Milarepa Cave – 5 Hours

From Mu Gompa, we trek back to Chhule and Phurbe which is on the east bank of the Shiar Khola. We arrive at the beautiful village of Burgi then climb up to the Milarepa Cave. It is well known for its mesmerizing glimpses of Poshyop Glacier and Mount Churke. We will stay overnight at tented accommodation at Burgi village.

Day 14: Trek from Burgi Village to Chumling (2386m) – 5 Hours

After having breakfast we continue walking through the greenery of nature then descend down to Chhokang Paro. Descending continuously to Gho, we reach Chumling. We will enjoy with the people and we stay overnight at tented accommodation in Chumling.

Day 15: Trek from Chumling to Philim (1570m) – 6 Hours

Early morning after having breakfast we continue to Lokpa and move ahead on a flat trail ahead overlooking the gorgeous Samba Falls. We can take some photos. We will reach Philim unknowing after about six hours. We stay overnight at tented camp in Philim.

Day 16: Trek from Philim to Khorlabesi (970m) – 7 Hours

From Philim, we again move towards Jagat and Tatopani and reach Khorlabeshi. Again we descend down to Sirdibas and arrive at Jagat. Then we continue trekking through Tatopani and arrive at Kholabeshi where we stay overnight at tented accommodation.

Day 17: Trek from Khorlabesi to Soti Khola (775m) – 6 Hours

Today, we will cross Tharo Khola following in a rocky ravine. Then we head down again to the river and traverse to Machha Khola of gurung village of Labubeshi trekking along the Budhi Gandaki River to reach Soti Khola. We  will stay overnight at tented accommodation.

Day 18: Trek from Soti Khola to Arughat (640m) – 7 Hours

From Soti Khola, we climb up the ridge of Kyorpani. Then descend down to the cascading waterfall. We will pass through the Sante Bazaar. After the walk of 7 hours, we eventually reach Arughat. We will stay overnight at tented camp. 

Day 19: Drive back to Kathmandu from Arughat – 8 Hours

After completing the whole Tsum valley trekking, we will catch a bus and drive back to Kathmandu from Arughat. Drive will be about 8 hours. In the evening, we can join the farewell dinner with our trekking team. We stay overnight at a hotel at Kathmandu.

Day 20: Final Departure

After having a relaxing night at Kathmandu, finally, the day of returning back to our home country and busy schedule has come with the ending of our interesting tour over to the highlands of Nepal. Nepal High Trek will organize a small farewell program at the airport and will help for any inconvenience that may arise during the departure.  We wish for your better journey ahead.

Q. Will somebody come to pick me up at the airport upon my arrival?

A. Absolutely! Our Airport Representative will come to the airport to pick you up. Outside of Terminal Hall, he will be displaying a play card of Nepal Everest Base Camp  Treks with your name on it.

Q. What type of accommodation do I expect while I am in Kathmandu & Mountain?

A. Excellent!! Our company will provide you five star category hotels in Kathmandu Radission Hotel and Del’ Annapurna or similar category with inclusive breakfast & best available accommodation duration the trekking as per your programs.

Q. What type of shape do I need to be for this trip?

A. This is suitable for average people who are good health & moderately fit, thus no previous experience is required however to get condition for this trip, some physical fitness programs such as running, swimming, hiking is recommended before you embark on journey. Person who is suffering from pre-existing diseases must seek medical advice with your doctor before considering the any trekking in Nepal. Whilst on the trek, it is common to experience some discomfort before being fully acclimatized.

Q. What is the best time for Trek?

A. We recommend you anytime between 15th February to 15th June in spring & 15th September to 10th December in autumn and spring season is the best time for trek, however, rest of the months are okay and trekking can be done but not as much as nice comparing those season due to winter & raining respectably.But when you will be get leisure time that we can provide prime and suitable trip for you.

Q. Is the food/water safe to drink during the trek?

A. During in mountain, your expert guide will advise you on what you should and shouldn’t eat and drink. The food at the places you will be staying is all safe to eat. Water you can buy bottled or bring along purification tablets. Every lodges/guest house also serve both boiled and filtered water on cheaper price for you to treat accordingly.

Q. I am alone ! Can I join in group?

A. Yes, Most of the guest houses you can recharge your camera batteries along the trek approximately cost you USD 2-3 per hour.

Q. What is the weather & temperature like in mountain?

A. Weather in the mountains is notoriously difficult to predict. At night it is generally cooler the days are generally warm. There will be snow during the month of December and February. It is important to make sure that you can stay warm and dry in just about any conditions. Expect the unexpected! The temperature could be as high as 21 deg C to -10 deg C low.

Q. How much should I plan on spending for each meal not included in Kathmandu?

A. In Kathmandu, you can allocate US$ 15 – 20 per meal.
