The official currency in Nepal is the Nepalese Rupee. Avoid changing the bulk of your money at the airport as the exchange rates are usually more favorable in the city. There are foreign currency exchange counters at an international airport. You can make a change upon your arrival at the airport. You better make changes at stalls and banks.
