Introduction:

Langtang Trekking, a journey that fits all ages and suitable for travelers including beginners as this walk leads into pure wilderness with exceptional views of Central Himalaya around beautiful Langtang region and its verdant valley within a week trek, where you achieve best of the Himalayan views and taste of Tamang Buddhist culture.

Langtang Trekking a moderate walk with ups and downhill includes touch of high altitude as this journey leads you to the highest of the trip at Kyanjin Gompa with an altitude of 3,870 m around beautiful and spectacular Langtang valley.

 

Probably Langtang Trekking is one of the few short adventures of week duration, where you can enjoy daily scenic views of surrounding landscapes and mountains without a problem of high altitude sickness or AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness).

This makes this Langtang Trekking enjoyable with exciting moment during this wonderful walk through enchanting woodland of tall rhododendron-magnolia-oaks and pines trees with bamboo groves where elusive and rare Red Panda habitats.

This trek is a combination of scenic walk with touch of culture where you can observe ancient Bon practice (a pre Buddhist sect) and Tibetan sect of Buddhism, as this walk leads you into traditional Tamang villages in the back drop of high Ganesh and Langtang Himal.

After an exciting and memorable time around high Central Himalaya, our journey leads back at Syabrubesi village for the drive to Kathmandu to conclude this enjoyable and fabulous Langtang Trekking.

Langtang Trekking offers magnificent mountain views of Ghengu Liru (Langtang II 6571m / 21,560ft),  Langtang Lirung  (7,425m / 23,765ft) Kimshun (6,745m / 22,137ft) and Shalbachum (6,918m / 22,699ft) to the south, the Chimsedang Lekh forms a ridge of peaks which includes Naya-Kanga 5,846m and Gangchempo, Tilman’s beautiful Fluted Peak.

It continues toward Jugal Himal to end at Dorje Lakpa (6,980m / 22,929ft), forming a huge mountain border with Tibet.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 01: Reach Kathmandu via respective airlines and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu sightseeing tour at places of interest.
Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi 1,460m – 07 hours journey.
Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel 2,470m – 06 hours.
Day 05: Trek to Langtang Village 3,430m – 06 hours.
Day 06: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa 3,870m- 04 hours.
Day 07: In Kyanjin Gompa rest day for acclimatization with short hike.
Day 08: Trek to Lama Hotel – 06 hrs.
Day 09: Trek to Syabrubesi – 05 hrs.
Day 10: Drive to Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel.
Day 11: Final International departure homeward bound.

Day 01: Reach Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
On reaching Kathmandu International Airport received by our staff and guide with warm welcome then a short drive to your hotel in the main areas of Kathmandu city, here joining with other members of Langtang trekking, our guide will brief with full information about the trek - hotels-culture with do’s and don’ts, include welcome dinner in a nice Nepali restaurant with folk programs.

Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.
As per the given time for sightseeing tour around Kathmandu, after breakfast our city and tour guide will pick you with short interesting drive for an impressive and exciting tour, Kathmandu although a metropolitan city retaining its ancient culture and traditions, where most of the World Heritage Sites are located for your interest, includes medieval period custom and culture as it was for hundreds of centuries, Kathmandu valley a blend of Buddhism and Hinduism in perfect harmony, after an interesting tour afternoon free preparation for Langtang Trekking.

Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi 1,460 m - 06hrs.
Langtang Valley Panorama trekking, begins with an exciting overland drive towards North West from Kathmandu around Nepal’s Central Himalaya region, a scenic journey leading past many farm villages and towns to reach our destination at Syabrubesi village, located in Rasuwa district of Langtang area and the gateway to various trekking around Langtang-Ganesh and also on route to Tibet border, overnight stop in a nice local lodge with friendly and warm hospitality of Tamang people the main inhabitants of Langtang areas and around Rasuwa district.

Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel 2,430m - 06 hours.
Beginning our first day walk with a climb for few hours heading towards scattered farm areas and villages, walk continues near Riverside and Bamboo place with few teahouses and lodges. After a refreshing break, our walk continues into cool forest of rhododendron, oaks and pines trees entering a gorge following upper Trisuli River, fed from the glacier of Langtang peaks, then completing the day walk at Lama Hotel for overnight stop.

Day 05: Trek to Langtang village 3,430m - 06 hours.
After a pleasant overnight with the sound of the river flowing, morning walk starts heading uphill through a gorge of dense forest, then reaching a nice spot at Ghoretabla (horse stable), from here altitude gains slowly and air gets cooler.

After lunch break walk continues to Langtang village for overnight stop as the walk leads past woodland and then coming into a wider area at Lantang village, a nice moderate size village of Tamang and Bhotia’s tribe peoples. (This village and up to Kyanjin was completely destroyed by avalanche of 25th April and 12th May 2015 huge earthquakes).

Day 06: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa 3,850m - 04 hours.
Today on the trail and first highlight of the adventure, as the morning trek leads to Kyanjin Gompa at Langtang valley, walk follows with short steep up as tree lines drops for short bushes of rhododendron, juniper and prickly Burberry bushes.

Our walk slowly enters a wide beautiful glacial valley with views of high snowcapped mountains on both side of the valley, after a scenic and nice morning walk reaching at Kyanjin Gompa for overnight stop. Kyanjin located at picturesque Langtang valley with wide green meadows actually a summer pasture and grazing land for Yaks.

This lovely spot offers views of Langtang Lirung glacier and ice fall at close distance, Kyanjin named after a old Gompa (monastery) at present in near ruins perched on a rocky moraine ridge top, at Kyanjin visit Yak Cheese Factory established 30 years ago with the help and support of Swiss technical assistance.

Day 07: At Kyanjin Gompa rest and hike.

An ideal and a perfect spot for rest day at Kyanjin, where you can enjoy pristine environment with views of mountains, from this beautiful spot take a short hike on top of Tsergo Ri at 5,033m for better views. Climb to Tsergo Ri leads to steep slopes rewarding you with fabulous panorama of surrounding mountains.

From Kyanjin and on top Tsergo-ri offers views of Chimsedang Lekh, and Kangjal Himal with ridge of peaks bordering the valley to the south, Naya Kanga 5,844m, stunning views of the great mountains flanking the Langtang valley, including Ganchenpo 6,387m, Dorje Lakpa 6,990 m, Pemthang Karpo Ri 6,830m, Langtang Lirung 7,245m and across the northern boundary in Tibet rises the huge massive Shishapangma 8,046 m the last worlds 14th highest mountain located wholly in Tibet.

Day 08: Trek to Lama Hotel - 06 hrs.

After a pleasant and exciting overnight and rest day at Kyanjin and beautiful Langtang valley, morning walk leading to a long descend to Lama Hotel passing via Langtang village and Ghoretabla following Langtang Khola and back at Lama Hotel for overnight stop.

Day 09: Trek to Syabrubesi - 05 hrs.
Today’s walk will be pleasant on losing altitude with downhill walk to Syabrubesi, morning walk follows through cool shade of the forest and then reaching a River Side, from here our route diverts to a long descend past several farm villages and terraces to reach a bridge and then a gradual nice walk concludes our Langtang trekking at Syabrubesi for the drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 10: Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel -06 hrs journeys.
After a great enjoyable time around central Himalaya with glorious views, morning depart for Kathmandu with an interesting overland drive to Kathmandu after a grand time on the high hills of Langtang trekking, in Kathmandu afternoon free for individual activities and shopping souvenirs.

Day 11: International departure for homeward bound.
Your last day in Nepal, amazing country of Himalayan wonders, as per your flight time leaving your hotel where our staff transfers you to airport, after a great memorable adventure with enjoyable time on Langtang Trekking.

Q. Will somebody come to pick me up at the airport upon my arrival?

A. Absolutely! Our Airport Representative will come to the airport to pick you up. Outside of Terminal Hall, he will be displaying a play card of Nepal Everest Base Camp  Treks with your name on it.

Q. What type of accommodation do I expect while I am in Kathmandu & Mountain?

A. Excellent!! Our company will provide you five star category hotels in Kathmandu Radission Hotel and Del’ Annapurna or similar category with inclusive breakfast & best available accommodation duration the trekking as per your programs.

Q. What type of shape do I need to be for this trip?

A. This is suitable for average people who are good health & moderately fit, thus no previous experience is required however to get condition for this trip, some physical fitness programs such as running, swimming, hiking is recommended before you embark on journey. Person who is suffering from pre-existing diseases must seek medical advice with your doctor before considering the any trekking in Nepal. Whilst on the trek, it is common to experience some discomfort before being fully acclimatized.

Q. What is the best time for Trek?

A. We recommend you anytime between 15th February to 15th June in spring & 15th September to 10th December in autumn and spring season is the best time for trek, however, rest of the months are okay and trekking can be done but not as much as nice comparing those season due to winter & raining respectably.But when you will be get leisure time that we can provide prime and suitable trip for you.

Q. Is the food/water safe to drink during the trek?

A. During in mountain, your expert guide will advise you on what you should and shouldn’t eat and drink. The food at the places you will be staying is all safe to eat. Water you can buy bottled or bring along purification tablets. Every lodges/guest house also serve both boiled and filtered water on cheaper price for you to treat accordingly.

Q. I am alone ! Can I join in group?

A. Excellent! If you are not interesting travel alone, we do have several joining trip on every different route, please choose your suitable departure date.

Q. Do you offer Tailor-made Trip?

Q. Can I charge camera batteries along the trek? and how much?

A. Yes, Most of the guest houses you can recharge your camera batteries along the trek approximately cost you USD 2-3 per hour.

Q. What is the weather & temperature like in mountain?

A. Weather in the mountains is notoriously difficult to predict. At night it is generally cooler the days are generally warm. There will be snow during the month of December and February. It is important to make sure that you can stay warm and dry in just about any conditions. Expect the unexpected! The temperature could be as high as 21 deg C to -10 deg C low.

Q. How much should I plan on spending for each meal not included in Kathmandu?

A. In Kathmandu, you can allocate US$ 15 – 20 per meal.
