Details Itinerary

 

Early in the morning, you will be picked up from the hotel and transfer to the domestic airport. Remember that you may have to do the jeep drive to the Manthali Airport early in the morning before dawn for the flight to Lukla. Be prepared for this. The travel planners will notify you regarding the condition of the Lukla flight. Upon landing in the Lukla Airport, you will meet the rest of the local trekking crew members. We will begin the trek in Lukla after the brief stop in Lukla. The Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality entry permit will be obtained before the start of the trek in Lukla.

The trail today is easy to walk as we descend about 200 m. We walk through the hamlets, mane walls, and monasteries along the way. The first day of the trekking is always joyous and we will enjoy the majestic scenery of mountains like Kwangde and Kusum Kangaru on this day but it is not about the mountain vista but about the forests, terraced farmlands, and lower elevation villages of the Everest region. Early in the morning after breakfast, we will begin the trek. The trekking guide will conduct the light exercise drill before the trek. We will walk along the Dudhkoshi River crossing more than 5 suspension bridges. On the way, we will take the Sagarmatha National Park entry permit after the Monjo Village near the Jorsalle Village before lunch. After reaching the Hillary Twin Bridge in the confluence of the Imja River and the Dudhkoshi River, we will be walking in the uphill trail to the Namche Bazaar. Today is also the first day that we will witness the majestic sight of the Mt. Everest if the weather is nice. We will walk through the forests and enter the magnificent horse shoe shaped town the Namche Bazaar. You can either explore the town or simply rest in the tea house in evening. Acclimatization is the most important activity to do in Nepal for successful trekking trip in the Everest region. Early in the morning, we will wake up and enjoy the first view of the Kwangde Peak. After breakfast, we will start the acclimatization hike to the Everest View Hotel. At first, we will visit the memorial park located on the top of the Namche Bazaar. The sight of the mountains like the Tabuche, Nuptse, Lhotse, Everest, Amadablam, Thamserku, Kangtega, Kusum Kangaru, and Kwangde looks spectacular from the park.

After spending about an hour in the park, we will start the uphill trek to the Everest View Hotel via Syangboche Airport. Sipping a cup of coffee in the balcony of the Everest View Hotel looking at the river valleys, cascading hills, and mountain vista including the sight of the world’s tallest mountain Mt. Everest can be so enticing experience to gather. We will return back to Namche Bazaar and you can stroll the marketplace in the evening. Overnight in a tea house.

We will begin the trek after breakfast. The first phase of the trek to Kyangjuma is on the Nepalese flat trail from the Namche Village. We will leave the Everest Base Camp Trek route from this place and take the route of the Mongla Danda. The trail descends downhill from Mongla Danda until the Phortse Thanga, where we will have lunch. The route is through the dense forests. After walking uphill, we will reach the magnificent village of Phortse where we can understand the lifestyle of the high elevation Sherpa people. Overnight in a tea house.

After breakfast, we will begin the trek. Today’s trek is through the narrow river valley. We will walk along the grassy meadows terrain in the foothill of the Tabuche Mountain overlooking the gigantic hill and the mountains. Overnight in a tea house.

Finally, we will reach the Gokyo Lake on this day. We will walk along the river gorge through grassy meadows. The sight of the Choyou Mountain is the major highlight of this day’s trek. We will follow the Cho Yu Mountain and after crossing the bridge, we will reach the  shores of the Gokyo 1st Lake. As we walk along the banks of the 1st and 2nd Lake, we will reach the Gokyo 3rd Lake where our tea house is located. After lunch, we will explore the shores of the lake and try to adjust to the demands of the higher elevation place. If you are okay physically, then you can do the Gokyo Ri sunset hike. Overnight in a tea house.

If you have not done the Gokyo Ri sunset hike, then we will do the early morning sunrise hike of the Gokyo Ri. The sight of the sun rising and lighting the lofty mountains is never an ordinary sight to savour. We will return back to tea house for breakfast and then continue the journey towards the Gokyo Fifth Lake. Remember that we will be getting the best and long view of Mt. Everest on this day. The sight of the Mt. Everest is more enticing from the Gokyo Region in comparison to the Everest Base Camp Trek journey. Overnight in a tea house.

We will wake up early in the morning. Our breakfast will be earlier in comparison to other days. Today’s trail is rugged and hard. We will walk through the rocky trails full of pebbles and in some sections, trekkers may have to use the support of the fixed rope. From the top of the Renjo La Pass (5357 m), you can get the mesmerizing scenery of mountains as far as the Mt. Makalu, including the sights of the mountains like Cho Yu, Nuptse, Lhotse, Everest, Amadablam, Thamserku, etc. We will then descend down to the Lungden Village. Overnight in a tea house.

Today is the most exciting day of the trek. We will visit the highest Everest Climbers’ village on this day. Thame Village has at least one person who has climbed Mt. Everest. The trekking is easy in comparison to the trek to Gokyo and the Renjo La Pass crossing. Upon reaching the village, we will visit the local museum and interact with the locals to know more about the Sherpa culture and traditions. Overnight in a tea house.

The choice is yours on this day whether to reach Monjo Village or stop at the Namche Bazaar. The trek starts after breakfast. It takes about 2 hours to reach the Namche Bazaar from Thame and it is up to you to decide whether to stay overnight in this village or continue the trek to Monjo. It is recommended to reach Monjo instead of staying in the Namche Bazaar. We will have lunch in Namche Bazaar and continue to Monjo. Overnight in a tea house.

We will retrace the same trail back to Lukla via Phakding. In the evening, we will enjoy with the trekking crew members for the successful Gokyo Trek with Renjo La Pass. Overnight in a tea house.

We will fly back to Kathmandu and check in to the hotel. The company representative will host the farewell dinner and review about the trip. Overnight in a hotel.
