Pike Peak Trek is an exclusive adventure that leads to the hidden pockets of the southern region of Everest. The area falls within the Solu-Khumbu district around Nepal Mid-East, and the trekking trails are quite raw. Where few groups of trekkers seldom venture into this remote and isolated country of Solu. An enjoyable walk on a less-visited path, the villagers hardly come across western travelers passing through their villages.
Short Pike Peak Trek is a perfect country walk for all interested people of all age groups. Without a problem of catching AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness), which is common around high altitude trekking, around the Himalayas. The charm of Pike View Point Hill Trekking is walking on a tranquil path in the harmony of natural surroundings. The trek follows through rural farm villages and into an enchanting forest lined with tall rhododendron, magnolia, and pine trees.
During spring, the whole hills will be lively with wildflowers in seasonal bloom, especially the rhododendron of various species. Making the whole area a natural garden of Eden, for nature lovers, it will be a perfect paradise. The trek follows beyond farm villages, after a long exciting drive from Kathmandu to Phaplu village. The walk leads toward a wilderness of high hills and lush vegetation and dense forest reaching the base of Pike Hill. An early morning start heading for a long climb of a few hours till the top of Pikey Hill is reached. From the top enjoy the glorious sunrise over Himalayan peaks with views of Mt. Everest in the northeast direction.
A spectacular panorama of more than 360° wide views of the Central and Eastern Himalayan chain of peaks. After a refreshing morning hike head back to the base of Pikey, as the walk leads on an alternative route. An enjoyable trek through a lovely farm village and then reaching a nice Sherpa village at Junbesi. From Junbesi explore the village of impressive Buddhist culture and then on a gradual trail to Phaplu. Where our marvelous Pike Peak Trek ends, before taking an interesting drive back to Kathmandu.

Brief Outline Itinerary:
Day 01: Kathmandu to Phaplu on Jeep or similar four-wheel-drive – 07 hrs.
Day 02: Trek to Jampre 2,920 m – 05 hrs.
Day 03: Trek to Pikey Base Camp 3,640 m – 06 hrs.
Day 04: Climb to Pikey Peak 4,302 m/14,114 feet with sunrise view trek down to Loading village 2,515 m – 07 hrs.
Day 05: Trek to Junbesi 2,675 m-05 hrs.
Day 06: Trek to Phaplu 2,413 m – 05 hrs.
Day 07: Phaplu to Kathmandu on four wheel-07 hours.
Day 01: Kathmandu to Phaplu on Jeep or similar four-wheel-drive – 07 hrs.
Start the adventure early morning for a long and exciting drive towards the mid-eastern part of Nepal to the Solu areas. Located southern hills of Everest, as drive leads past towns and farm villages on Himalayan foothills to the scenic town of Dhulikhel.
From here drive continues heading southeast on the winding road to Ramechap and then reaching at Solu region. A nice place on a green valley as the journey leads above hills and down past lovely farm villages. Finally drive ends at Phaplu, near Salleri town, headquarter of Solu-Khumbu for overnight in the comfort of a nice homely lodge run by Sherpa people. The main tribes of the areas follow strong Buddhism religion and culture.
Day 02: Trek to Jampre 2,920 m – 05 hrs.
Morning having good breakfast, start the first day’s walk on the moderate path, the trail winds up past several farm areas with spread-out villages. Facing views of snow-capped peaks towards the north, the trek continues with a few stops to observe local farm life and witness the local culture. As the walk follows west to Jampre for an overnight stop, a moderate size farm village with time to interact with the locals.
Day 03: Trek to Pike Base Camp 3,640 m- 06 hrs.
On the second day of the trek heads closer to our main destination after leaving the farm villages. Walking into lovely dense woodland covered with tall rhododendron-magnolia-oaks-hemlocks-pines and fir trees.
As the walk progress coming to a small pasture field, where Pikey Base Camp is located. A place with few simple basic lodges for the comfort of travelers, who seldom visit this area. Overnight at Pikey Base Camp and ready for the next early morning hike to Pikey Hilltop.
Day 04: Climb to Pikey Peak 4,302 m/ 14,114 feet for sunrise views and mountain panorama, trek down to Loading 2,515 m- 07 hrs.
Early morning before the crack of dawn, start the walk with a climb carrying pack lunch for the day. As the walk leads on the well-maintained path into the deeply forested path, the trek continues with some shortstop in between. After a few hours of steady walks, then finally the climb ends on reaching on top Pikey Hill. The highest spot of the adventure, enjoy a spectacular panorama of the Himalayan mountain range with striking sunrise that reflects the first highest peak on top Mt. Everest.
Pikey Hilltop offers grand views of Ganesh-Langtang with the Jugal Himal range of peaks including Gaurishankar-Melung-Tse-Number and Mt. Everest.
Extends towards eastern Himalayan peaks, after a great scenic and refreshing morning hike walk back downhill. As our journey continues leaving the Pikey base camp Loading for an overnight stop, a nice moderate-size farm village.
Day 05: Trek to Junbesi 2,675 m – 05 hrs.
Morning a short walk leads downhill through coniferous forest reaching at lovely Sherpa village at Junbesi. A large and interesting village with an old monastery and high school built by Hillary Trust. After checking into a nice lodge with time to explore the village of great cultural interest.
Day 06: Trek to Phaplu 2,413 m – 05 hrs.
After a pleasant time at Junbesi, the return journey leads to a moderate walk on the main trail to Solu and at Phaplu village with a small airstrip, where smaller planes land and takes off quite often. But unreliable and unpredictable leads to delay and cancellation sometimes. On reaching Phaplu check into a nice local Sherpa lodge for the last overnight stop of the adventure around Solu and Pike Hilltop.
Day 07: Phaplu to Kathmandu on four wheel-07 hours.
Start the journey early morning to Kathmandu from Phaplu, taking a jeep or similar type of four-wheel drive. The drive leads over hills and valleys with steep ups and downhill past many farm villages and towns. Then finally reached the main highway, and then a smooth drive back at Kathmandu. Arriving at the hotel by late afternoon or evening time for dinner. After a great memorable adventure on Pike View Point Hill Trekking.
