Annapurna base camp is one of the popular trekking among the trekkers all over the world. The splendor view and the hospitable behavior of the people would hold your heart in these places forever. Some true facts about the Annapurna region that would make your heart leap are described below.

  1. Mount Annapurna is the world’s 10th highest peak. Its height is 8091m which offers the beautiful Himalayan scene and many small glaciers from the top of the peak.
  2. Annapurna was the first scaled 8000m peak ever and it was done without supplemental oxygen.
  3. Annapurna has the 38%highest fatality rate while climbing it. It is the most dangerous peak whereas the death rate of Everest is even 6.5%.
  4. Annapurna” means the full of seed or food. Nepalese believes that the goddess Annapurna resides in the Mount Annapurna. (note: Not only mount Annapurna but most of all the mountain are believed to have the god inside it ).
  5. The first summit of the Mount Annapurna was done in 1950 by the French citizen Maurice Herzog and Louis Lachenal. The Best Time trek to the Annapurna Base Camp:

 From March to May around spring season as well in autumn and pre-winter September to December months. From March to May lively when wildflowers are in seasonal bloom also, especially the rhododendron of various colors and species. Springtime with much longer sun-light hours can get cold with late afternoon strong winds, freezing temperatures morning and night time. September to December clear days for pleasant walks and views but with shorter days and sunlight hours can be freezing cold in the morning and night time with chances of snow.

On reaching Kathmandu International Airport received by our staff and guide. After a warm welcome than a short drive to your hotel in the main areas of Kathmandu city. Here joining with other members of Annapurna Base Camp & Sanctuary trekking, our guide will brief with full information about the trek – hotels-culture with do’s and don’ts, include welcome dinner in a nice Nepali restaurant with folk programs.
As per the given time for a sightseeing tour around Kathmandu valley. After breakfast, our city and tour guide will pick you with a short interesting drive for an impressive and exciting tour, Kathmandu although a metropolitan city retaining its ancient culture and traditions. Where most of the World Heritage Sites are located for your interest, includes medieval period custom and culture. As it was for hundreds of centuries, Kathmandu valley a blend of Buddhism and Hinduism in perfect harmony, after an interesting tour afternoon free preparation for Annapurna Base Camp & Sanctuary trekking.
Annapurna Base Camp & Sanctuary trek starts with an exciting overland drive on the busy highway to reach scenic Pokhara. On reaching Pokhara transfer to respective hotels by the beautiful Phewa Lake where most of the hotels are located.
(For interested people can take a short scenic flight to Pokhara of 30 minutes)
After an enjoyable overnight in Pokhara with wonderful views of Annapurna, morning taking 2 hrs drive o the outskirt of Pokhara to reach our starting point of the trek at Nayapul. From here following Modi Rive for few hours passing nice Bhirethati village and many farm villages on a pleasant path. After few hours of the good walk, our journey leads to a climb on stone steps to a lovely village at Ghandruk for overnight with grand views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchare “Fish Tail”. This is one of the large Gurung people villages around Annapurna with time to explore this nice village with a view.
Morning along with super views of Annapurna and Fish Tail peak walk leads through a lovely forest and then uphill on a winding path to reach at Kimrong village located on a ridge. Then the trail goes downhill within the forested area to the Kimrong river. Where few hours of climb brings you to Chomrong village with grand views of Annapurna South, Huinchuli and majestic face of Mt. Machhapuchare “Fish Tail”
The Chomrong Village is another large Gurung village, famous as Gorkha in UK and Indian armies, besides as brave soldiers they are farmers and Cattle herders of Tibetan Buddhist religions. This will be the last permanent village before Annapurna base camp, beyond are the just small settlement with lodges to cater to the needs of trekkers.
The morning starts with a downhill walk to a river, crossing a short bridge with uphill to Sinuwa at 2,360 m high, a scenic spot with few nice lodges. The path walk from here leads into the cool forested area of oaks-rhododendron and pines trees and then a short steep descent to Bamboo a small settlement with 5-6 lodges surrounded by bamboo trees, on Modi River gorge. After Bamboo, an hour or more of slow climb brings at Dovan for overnight stop located within Modi River Gorge with a couple of lodge for overnight stay.
After a nice overnight stop at Dovan with the sound of raging Modi River, morning walk leads higher through thickly forested area reaching Himalaya Hotel located beneath Huichuli peak and large overhanging Hinko Cave. From downhill by the Modi River crossing ablation of old avalanches of the rocky moraine, then a short climb brings at Deurali after leaving the gorge area to a more wide-open area. From Deurali after lunch stop heading higher leaving the tree lines behind following the raging glacial Modi River all the way to Machhapuchare base camp at 3,700 m high for an overnight stop, located beneath towering North Face of the Fish Tail Mountain.
Finally, our walk leads into beautiful Annapurna Sanctuary and at Annapurna Base Camp, walk leads higher for a few hours to reach the sanctuary with a beautiful amphitheater of peaks that surrounds this wonderful place. After a few hours of pleasant walk brings you to our highest spot of the adventure at Annapurna base camp with 4,130 meters high. Afternoon relaxes and enjoys the views of Annapurna I (8,091m / 26,545ft) Annapurna South (7,219m-23,693ft), Gangapurna (7,455m-24,457ft) and Annapurna III (7,555m-24,787ft), including to Mt. Machhapuchare (Fish-tail) at 6,790 m stretches up towards Tent Peak / Tharpu Chuli and Fluted Peaks or Singu Chuli.
After an enjoyable moment at base camp and Annapurna Sanctuary return journey with much downhill walks back into tree lines and with few short ups to reach at Bamboo for an overnight stop.
From Bamboo leaving the Modi River and the gorge behind climb up to Khuldi-Ghar into the forested area. Then a short gradual walk to Sinuwa danda, from here descend to Chomrong River and then climb on steps to Chomrong for a lunch stop. After Chomrong a short climb to the top ridge and then changing our direction from here with an alternative route to reach Pokhara. A short downhill walk brings at scenic and lovely Jhinu village for an overnight stop, located on a ridge top with views of surrounding landscapes and rolling green hills. A short descend of 25 minutes reaches you at hot-spring by the Modi River.
After the nice break at Jhinu village morning walk downhill on stone steps reaching at another Nayapul (New Bridge). From here on crossing a long suspension bridge, a short climb to reach another large village at Landruk. After a short rest with commanding views walk is easier on winding trails with few short and up and down to reach at Tolka village with grand views of Annapurna South and Huinchuli. From here on the gradual trail with few short ups and down, passing village Bheda Kharka, and then an hour or less climb into the cool forest to reach at Pitam Deurali at 2,100 meters high, offering grand views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Huinchuli, Mt. Machhapuchare and of Ghandruk village. From Deurali downhill through the forest to Potana village for last overnight stop on the high hills of Annapurna.
 The trail leads you to a scenic spot located on a large meadow with parallel views of Annapurna and Manaslu range of mountains. Our final walk of this adventure leads downhill to the road head at Kande village for the drive back at picturesque Pokhara by the serene Phewa Lake after an hour of exciting drive.
Enjoying time in lovely Pokhara with glorious views, morning depart for Kathmandu with an interesting overland drive to Kathmandu after a grand time at Annapurna Base Camp & Sanctuary trekking. In Kathmandu afternoon free for individual activities and shopping souvenirs.
