The 10 Days Short Annapurna Circuit Trek is the classical trekking route of Nepal. Normally, the trip is the detour route of Nepal Trekking that requires 16 – 18 days. However, if you are short on time, you can do the trek in much lesser days as well. After lots of field research, travel planners of Nepal High Trek have knitted the Annapurna Circuit Trek 10 Days itinerary. The itinerary is perfect for travelers without much risk of altitude sickness and hours of walking. Moreover, the construction of a hilly road from Besisahar to Manang has helped in knitting the short itinerary of the Annapurna Circuit Trek.

Can I use Jeep to Manang to further shorten the number of trekking days?

No, it is not appropriate to take a jeep beyond Chame. However, it is possible to use the four-wheel jeep to Manang. The risk of altitude sickness is very high if we take a jeep ride to Manang. Therefore, we highly advise not to take risks by using a jeep to Manang from Besisahar. Our team has put the jeep ride up to Chame in order to avoid any kinds of hassles during the trip.

Acclimatization in Manang

Trekkers take the bus or private vehicle ride from Kathmandu to Besisahar. It takes usually about 7 – 8 hours from Kathmandu to reach Besisahar. The following day, trekkers take a jeep ride to Chame. Trekking through the village of Pisang, trekkers reach the Manang Village. The village is one of the largest villages on the Annapurna Circuit Trek 10 Days trail. It is mainly habituated by the Gurung people.

Places beyond Manang are at high altitudes. Therefore, you need proper acclimatization. Acclimatization activity includes the hike to Gangapurna Lake and a village excursion (local houses, farms, and monasteries). This acclimatization activity helps trekkers to avoid any kind of altitude sickness on the journey.

Travel Insurance is compulsory for trekkers. It provides the necessary cover and confidence to the trekkers. Apart from the trekking insurance, trekkers need to prepare their bodies both physically and mentally. Do some cardiovascular exercises in order to increase stamina. These exercises include cycling, walking, swimming, and running. Moreover, adopt good eating habits as well.

When is the best time to do Annapurna Circuit Trek 10 Days?

The most appropriate time to trek in most of the trekking routes of Nepal is either spring or autumn season. For this trekking too, the months of spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are ideal seasons. During this time of the year, the view is clear and the climate is fantastic. The trail has some of the best mountain vista places that require clear weather to enjoy fully.

Accommodation and Meals in Annapurna Circuit Route

The trail of Annapurna Circuit Trek 10 Days is one of the oldest trekking routes. Therefore, the provision of food and accommodation during the trip is top-notch. It ranges from basic to luxurious. However, in high-altitude places like Thorong Phedi and High Camp, trekkers may have to adjust or share a room with the trekkers. In some cases, the dining room is also used for overnight sleeping. The route is probably the most regal in terms of meals. You can find diverse food choices during the trip. The choice of food ranges from western cuisine to local dishes. Moreover, you can choose to take your own cook and do the camping trek instead of the teahouse package trek. In order to do this, please confirm with the travel planners before booking.

Crossing The World’s Longest Thorong La Pass (5416 m)

Thorang La Pass is the world’s longest and most challenging pass in the Annapurna region of Nepal. There are two options for the trekkers to cross the pass. You can choose to stay at Thorong Phedi or High Camp before the day of the pass crossing. If you stay in Thorong Phedi, night sleeping is much easier but walking is challenging on the day of crossing. However, if you start the pass crossing from high camp, it is comparatively easier. The choice is yours. Moreover, the trekking guide will assess the physical condition of trekkers before crossing the Thorong La Pass.

From the top of the pass, you can see the view of the iconic mountains of Annapurna, Tibetan, and Manaslu Himalayan ranges.
