Mohare Danda Trek is a short beautiful destination on the off-beaten tracks where fewer trekkers seldom venture, due to unawareness. 6 Days Mohare Danda Trek, is not too far from the mainstream and popular route of Ghorepani Poon Hill. Bust is still a hidden scenic hill, where trekkers can enjoy a sweeping panorama of the Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Manaslu Himalaya ranges. Including stunning sunrise and sunset views reflecting over an array of Himalayan peaks with magnificent Machhapuchare Himal the famed Fish-Tail peak.

Mohare Danda stands at the height of 3,300 m / 10, 827 feet high, located Mid-West Nepal around Gandaki Zone. The home of Magar / Poon people, the main hill tribes of the western Himalayas, enriched with a culture of traditional heritage. A moderate adventure of less than a week duration takes you beyond scenic and picturesque Pokhara city to the high hills. An exciting and enjoyable trek suitable for all types of travelers and age groups, although it leads to steep uphill.

Best seasons:

Nearly all year round except for the monsoon-wet months of July to mid-September. The best and high time is in spring, most days are clear and fine for pleasant walks and views, and this is the time when wildflowers are in seasonal bloom. Especially the rhododendron of various different species from tall trees to the bush, as well the national flower of Nepal. Could get cloudy in the afternoon with chances of rain and snow above 2,500 m higher. Cold in the morning and nighttime, longer days full of sunshine.

The other best season is in autumn, where most days are crystal clear with blue sky, but shorter days due to sunlight hours. Chances of snow sometimes on higher altitudes above 2,000 m. For interested people can visit during the winter times of December to February also, much clearer days with short sun-light hours and much colder with freezing temperatures around higher altitudes with chances of snowfall sometimes.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu 1,320 m and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu for trek preparation and guided tour.
Day 03: Drive to Pokhara 860 m and transfer to hotel-06 hrs.
Day 04: Drive to Galeshwor village 1, 170 m and start trek to Banskharka 1, 526 m -06 hours with drives and walks.
Day 05: Trek to Nangi 2, 320 m – 06 hrs.
Day 06: Trek to Mohare Danda / Hill at 3,300 m -05 hrs.
Day 07: Trek to Khibang 2,060 m-06 hrs.
Day 08: Trek to Tikot 2, 210 m – 04 hrs.
Day 09: Trek to Tiplyang 1,030 m-3 hrs. Drive to Pokhara- 03 hrs.
Day 10: Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel-06 hrs.
Day 11: Depart Kathmandu for an international flight homeward bound.

Details Itinerary

On arrival at Kathmandu-Nepal international airport, received by our guide for a short transfer to your hotel in the center of the city. The briefing will be provided by our guide regarding the hotel, treks, and local lodges. The evening group welcomes dinner in a typical Nepali restaurant as an introduction to local foods with cultural folk programs.

A free day in Kathmandu for trek preparation, and for an interesting tour around places of great historical and cultural interest. Kathmandu is full of world heritage sites to enjoy a full day sightseeing tour around famous landmarks of the country.

Having early breakfast or on the way, depart from the hotel for an exciting overland journey heading Mid-West Nepal to Pokhara, on arrival at Pokhara by the Phewa lake, where best hotels and restaurants are located. After checking into your nice rooms with time to browse around the streets by the Lakeside. Pokhara a scenic and renowned tourist spot, the city blessed with natural wonders, sit on the laps of rolling green hills in the close shadow of Annapurna Himalayas.

Having a good breakfast at the hotel, a few hour drive leads to further west beyond Pokhara valley, past many nice farm villages and towns. Facing marvelous views of Annapurna Himalaya range on a drive, as the journey ends at a small village of Galeshwor. Galeshwor is a farm village by the bank of Kaligandaki River, time permitting enjoy a simple lunch and then start the first day’s walk. The route leads above the river heading for a climb on gradual uphill past farm terraces, a walk for 2-3 hours, and then reaching a small farm village at Banskharka. A remote isolated tiny village with few houses, overnight in a hut which is known as Home Stay, run by the village community.

From Banskharka, having breakfast morning starts with a slow climb into a lush green forested area, following a path with occasional views of snow-clad peaks and surrounding beautiful landscapes. Finally ending the day walk on reaching a small settlement at Nangi, where temperatures get much cooler from here due to rise in altitude. At Nangi overnight in the lodge with time to visit a wonderful organic farm field an educational purpose to boost the local economy of local Magar tribe community.

Walk today leads to our main highlight destination at Mohare Danda a high scenic hill of the region. After a good breakfast, start the day with a climb into lush green vegetation and tall tree lines of rhododendron and pines. After a steady walk uphill with some refreshing stop reaching at Mohare Danda enjoy the glorious panorama of snow peak range facing ahead Mt. Machhapuchare Himal / Fish Tail, Annapurna South, Tukuche, and Nilgiri peaks. At Mohare Danda overnight in an eco-community lodge, enjoy the stunning sunset views from this scenic hill of Mohare Danda.

Rising up early morning to catch striking sunrise reflecting over an array of snow peaks of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and Manaslu Himalaya range. After a glorious morning, enjoy breakfast and then leave Mohare Danda on the downhill to Khibang, as the walk leads to a few short ups but more down all the way to Khibang a small farm village, overnight in a local hut run by the Eco-Community.

Today a short day walk till lunch to Tikot following the downhill path through a number of small farm villages inhabited by Magar, the main ethnic hill tribes of Western Nepal. As walk leads on winding trail through forest and then reaching at Tikot for lunch and overnight halt in the comfort of local nice lodge managed by Magar and Eco-Community. Rest of the day take a short hike or just relax and enjoy the marvelous surrounding scenery.

From Tikot another short day walks to a road-head at Tiplyang village, as route leads down towards warmer and low farm areas to Tiplyang, located close to Kaligandaki River, a moderate size village on route to Mustang and Pokhara via Beni town. Having a simple lunch available probably the famous Nepali Dal-Bhat and then board in a jeep or similar vehicles for an exciting drive back to Pokhara.
On reaching by the lake Phewa, transfer back to respective hotels for the last overnight stop around Nepal Mid-West and Annapurna Himalaya region.

Early breakfast or on route to Kathmandu, depart from the hotel for an interesting overland journey back to Kathmandu. On arrival within the main busy city area, transfer to your hotel, after a great marvelous adventure on Mohare Danda Trekking.

Last day in Nepal and at Kathmandu, as per your international flight time our staff and guide transfer you to the airport for homeward bound or to the next port of call, after an amazing short memorable adventure on Mohare Danda Trek.
