5 Days Mardi Himal Trek Route Overview
The trailhead of the trekking is similar to lots of Annapurna region trekking in Nepal. The usual first famous destination is Pokhara. Lots of people prefer to stay the first night of trekking in an Australian Camp. The place is at the top of the Dhampus Village. The trail passes through terraced farmlands at first and enters the forest route to the high camp. Low Camp, High Camp, and Upper View Point are the famous vantage points of the trail. Trekkers don’t need to trek the same route back to the Pokhara. They can use the Siding route as well while descending. Even though, if you’re fit and strong the trip can be completed within 4 days from Pokhara. Get the details of 4 days Mardi Himal Trek.
Mardi Trek Difficulty
Beware of the narrow valleys and high ridges. The trail is completely uphill until Upper View Point. Therefore, it is not easy to walk some. However, the trail is one of the easy trekking routes in Nepal. While compared to high-altitude destinations, it is easier to trail. For a physically fit person, it is not difficult to do this trek. Snow season can make the trail tricky. Therefore, during this time of the year, trekkers must heed the instructions of the guide. Lots of crevasses can make it hard and confusing. Therefore, don’t trek solo on the trail.
Accommodation and Food During the Trek
Don’t expect luxurious accommodation during the trek. Only a handful of teahouses are present on the trail. Therefore, trekkers have to stay overnight the Spartan way. However, basic facilities are there for the trekkers. The food menu is simple. You can get western and local basic food items. Drinking water is a problem on the trail. Therefore, you will have to depend on these small teahouses for the water.
Outstanding View of Mt. Machhapuchhre with Sparkling Peaks
The top of the Mardi Himal is famous for the outstanding view of Mount Machhapuchhre. From the Upper View Point of Mardi Himal, trekkers can get the spectacular scenery of mountains and cascading hills. The highlight is the holy killer mountain Machhapuchhre (Mt. Fishtail). Khopra Hill Trek is famous for Dhaulagiri and Annapurna South view while Mardi is popular for the Fishtail mountain vista.
Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek vs Mardi Himal Trek vs Khopra Hill Trek
Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, Khopra Hill Trek, and Annapurna Panorama Trek are similar trekking trips of the Annapurna region. However, the latter two treks are off-the-beaten trek routes. The mountain scenery is equally rewarding in all these destinations. Some trekkers do all these trekking in one single trip as well. It is possible to do so. Contact the travel planners of Nepal High Trek to get the best itinerary for the trip.
Khopra Hill Trek is completely off the beaten. However, Mardi is in between Poon Hill and Khopra trail in terms of amenities. Therefore, start your trek from the Mardi route and end it in Poon Hill.
Include Poon Hill and Khopra in the Mardi itinerary. This is also the smart way to explore the majestic low-altitude places of the Annapurna region of Nepal.
Best Season for Mardi Himal Journey
The usual peak seasons for trekking in Nepal are Spring and Autumn. Therefore, plan your trip to Mardi for the months of spring and autumn. Monsoon season is the worst time to do trekking. Leeches, muddy trails, and a cloudy atmosphere make it depressing for the trekkers. In the winter season, the trail is slippery and dangerous. However, the snow on the hills and trail makes it adventurous as well as picturesque as well.
Our suggestion for the magnificent journey is either in the spring or autumn season.

What travellers say
We had Indako as our guide for the Mardi Himal Trek and were absolutely thrilled. He perfectly tailored the tour to our wishes, was always organized, helpful, and incredibly attentive. Thanks to his many years of experience, we were able to plan our trekking days with complete flexibility and received many helpful tips for our further travels through Nepal. We will especially remember his open personality, the fascinating insights into culture and Buddhism, and the many photos and videos he took of us along the way. You can immediately tell that his guests' experience is truly important to him. Highly recommended Nepal High Trek and we would trek with him again in a heartbeat!
Madeleine JochumWe did the Mardi Himal Trek with Indako in May and couldn't have imagined a better guide. He was incredibly flexible throughout the entire trip – we spontaneously decided each day how far we wanted to hike and where we wanted to spend the night, and he always perfectly adapted the arrangements. He consistently made sure we got the best available rooms and even regularly provided us with fresh fruit. He has 13 years of experience as a guide and knows the trekking routes in Nepal extremely well. He was also a huge help with the further planning of our trip. The many insights into Nepalese culture and Buddhism that he shared with us were particularly fascinating – especially since he himself used to be a monk.It was always clear how important it was to him to make the trip special and unforgettable for us. He helped when our backpacks got too heavy, took beautiful photos and videos of us, and was always cheerful, motivating, and positive. We wholeheartedly recommend Indako as a guide and w…
Hanna LeithnerI would highly recommend trekking with Nepal High Trek and Expedition. I went on the 4 day Mardi Himal Trek with my guide Anos who was an incredible guide. Anos was attentive, helpful, knowledgeable, very experienced and communicative (he is also very funny!). He repeatedly went above and beyond to make my trip memorable. The trek included accommodation, permits, transportation, food, snacks, and a guide, along with other things. I really appreciated the flexibility in schedule, timing and overall experience. I will definitely be booking with Nepal High Trek and Expedition (and hopefully Anos) during my next time in Nepal. 10/10 recommend.
Shelby ThorntonWe did the Mardi Himal trek, 4 nights and 5 days. We booked via WhatsApp and had all our questioned answered, we were also able to ask to have sleeping bags, coats and sticks included so we didn’t need to rent them. Our guide was called Shyam and we really enjoyed his company, by the end of the trip he felt more like a friend than a guide. He helped us understand the culture of Nepal better and was very good at providing snacks, moral support (when the trek was tough) and also amended the itinerary as needed. We walked faster on one of the days than initially planned so we stayed in a different tea house higher up and this was no problem. It was great that he was flexible and we didn’t have to stick to the itinerary day to day. He was great at taking photos too! We were able to order any food we wanted for breakfast, lunch and dinner and had plenty of hot drinks too. We had a private room to sleep in every night which meant we could relax in the evenings. Thanks Shyam. Great company t…
