Moreover, people trek on this trail to experience the magnificent forest environment as well.

Why Mardi Himal Trek is famous?

Travel agencies across Nepal are getting lots of inquiries about the trek. Even Nepalese people trek on the trail. It is famous among youngsters. The major reason behind its popularity is the mountain scenery and short distance. You can do the trek in less than a week. Green lush forest trail offers tranquility and serenity as well. For those people living in city areas, the trail offers much-needed respite. The forest’s environment, mountain vista, tranquility, serenity, short vacation, and mini mountaineering reasons make it popular.

5 Days Mardi Himal Trek Route Overview

The trailhead of the trekking is similar to lots of Annapurna region trekking in Nepal. The usual first famous destination is Pokhara. Lots of people prefer to stay the first night of trekking in an Australian Camp. The place is at the top of the Dhampus Village. The trail passes through terraced farmlands at first and enters the forest route to the high camp. Low Camp, High Camp, and Upper View Point are the famous vantage points of the trail. Trekkers don’t need to trek the same route back to the Pokhara. They can use the Siding route as well while descending. Even though, if you’re fit and strong the trip can be completed within 4 days from Pokhara. Get the details of 4 days Mardi Himal Trek.

Mardi Trek Difficulty

Beware of the narrow valleys and high ridges. The trail is completely uphill until Upper View Point. Therefore, it is not easy to walk some. However, the trail is one of the easy trekking routes in Nepal. While compared to high-altitude destinations, it is easier to trail. For a physically fit person, it is not difficult to do this trek. Snow season can make the trail tricky. Therefore, during this time of the year, trekkers must heed the instructions of the guide. Lots of crevasses can make it hard and confusing. Therefore, don’t trek solo on the trail.

Accommodation and Food During the Trek

Don’t expect luxurious accommodation during the trek. Only a handful of teahouses are present on the trail. Therefore, trekkers have to stay overnight the Spartan way. However, basic facilities are there for the trekkers. The food menu is simple. You can get western and local basic food items. Drinking water is a problem on the trail. Therefore, you will have to depend on these small teahouses for the water.

Outstanding View of Mt. Machhapuchhre with Sparkling Peaks

The top of the Mardi Himal is famous for the outstanding view of Mount Machhapuchhre. From the Upper View Point of Mardi Himal, trekkers can get the spectacular scenery of mountains and cascading hills. The highlight is the holy killer mountain Machhapuchhre (Mt. Fishtail). Khopra Hill Trek is famous for Dhaulagiri and Annapurna South view while Mardi is popular for the Fishtail mountain vista.

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek vs Mardi Himal Trek vs Khopra Hill Trek

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, Khopra Hill Trek, and Annapurna Panorama Trek are similar trekking trips of the Annapurna region. However, the latter two treks are off-the-beaten trek routes. The mountain scenery is equally rewarding in all these destinations. Some trekkers do all these trekking in one single trip as well. It is possible to do so. Contact the travel planners of Nepal High Trek to get the best itinerary for the trip.

Khopra Hill Trek is completely off the beaten. However, Mardi is in between Poon Hill and Khopra trail in terms of amenities. Therefore, start your trek from the Mardi route and end it in Poon Hill.

Include Poon Hill and Khopra in the Mardi itinerary. This is also the smart way to explore the majestic low-altitude places of the Annapurna region of Nepal.

Best Season for Mardi Himal Journey

The usual peak seasons for trekking in Nepal are Spring and Autumn. Therefore, plan your trip to Mardi for the months of spring and autumn. Monsoon season is the worst time to do trekking. Leeches, muddy trails, and a cloudy atmosphere make it depressing for the trekkers. In the winter season, the trail is slippery and dangerous. However, the snow on the hills and trail makes it adventurous as well as picturesque as well.

Our suggestion for the magnificent journey is either in the spring or autumn season.

Anos the boss made Mardi Himal an epic Trip!

My partner & I just got back from Mardi Himal with Anos and had an amazing time from start to finish! We had some reservations as the price was cheaper than other agencies but the reviews helped us decide to book. Rest assured, these guys know what they’re doing and will look after you from start to finish. Nepal High Trek were responsive from the start and we met Anos the day before. He quickly grew on us with his kindness, knowledge of the mountains and attentiveness to our health throughout the trek. Anos also happens to play the guitar which got the party started during some rainy afternoons at tea houses! All the accommodation we stayed in was clean with warm duvets, good food (which was all included) and friendly owners. Extras like WiFi/hot showers/extra snacks and drinks/toilet paper can be purchased at all tea houses. Anos looked after us and had chocolate snacks at the ready when we needed them each day. When my partner had altitude sickness symptoms he whipped out hot water and snacks and checked her oxygen levels/blood pressure. We felt really safe and genuinely cared for. Thanks Anos for making the experience so special!

Excellent company to hike through Nepal with - flexible to individual group needs

We did the Mardi Himal trek, 4 nights and 5 days. We booked via WhatsApp and had all our questioned answered, we were also able to ask to have sleeping bags, coats and sticks included so we didn’t need to rent them. Our guide was called Shyam and we really enjoyed his company, by the end of the trip he felt more like a friend than a guide. He helped us understand the culture of Nepal better and was very good at providing snacks, moral support (when the trek was tough) and also amended the itinerary as needed. We walked faster on one of the days than initially planned so we stayed in a different tea house higher up and this was no problem. It was great that he was flexible and we didn’t have to stick to the itinerary day to day. He was great at taking photos too! We were able to order any food we wanted for breakfast, lunch and dinner and had plenty of hot drinks too. We had a private room to sleep in every night which meant we could relax in the evenings. Thanks Shyam.
Great company to book with

We did the 4 day Mardi Himal trek with Anos as our guide. The trek was amazing, not too difficult with beautiful views (although lots of stairs). Anos was really friendly and very attentive. We walked to base camp at 3am which was tough but Anos was great – making sure everyone was ok and giving us hot tea and water to keep our spirits up. We were the only people at base camp to watch the sun rise, which was unforgettable. All the places we stayed were great with WiFi and we could order what we wanted to eat. Our porter was also lovely and not carrying heavy bags helped us enjoy the walk more (it’s a lot of stairs!) I would highly recommend Nepal High Trek and Anos.

Tip – bring lots of warm clothes for after hiking as it gets very cold at the tea houses higher up! But there are lots of blankets for sleeping and we weren’t cold at night. Also we didn’t realise we could borrow jackets and sleeping bag in Kathmandu which would have saved us some money.

5 Days Mardi Himal Trek

I did the 5 Days Mardi Himal Trek with Nepal High Trek & Expedition with my friends. It was our first time in Nepal, and of course first time attempting the mountain in the beautiful country.
Anjan was our guide and he is experienced and with familiar the Annapurna Treks. The entire team was wonderful and helpful. Anjan speaks well and we had a great conversation getting to know more about them and their culture (and food too)!

Well, of course, all of us made it to Mardi Trek safely and smoothly. We even organized a farewell lunch and dinner with his team to appreciate them.
Definitely recommend the Nepal High Trek & Expedition and Anjan for anyone interested in exploring the mountains in Nepal!

We just completed the 5-day Mardi Himal Trek with the Nepal High Trek Team. It was an excellent trek organized by the NHT. We felt very comfortable in everything and our guide Shyam was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Along the trek, he booked us acceptable accommodation and was well-serviced throughout the trek. The Mardi Base Camp was fabulous and surrounded by stunning peaks.

Moreover, We had a fantastic time during the Mardi trek and found Shyam and Dawa to be incredibly welcoming at the airport. Nepal High Trek provided us with an affordable package, customized itinerary, best services such as quality food, nice accommodation, a professional guide, trekking gear, and fresh fruit. We highly recommend the Nepal High Trek team if you are thinking of trekking in Himalayas Nepal in near the future. Definitely, we will back again to Nepal with NHT.

Mardi Himal Trek from Pokhara

Pawan was our guide to Mardi Himal Trek and did everything possible to make the best of our trekking. I strongly recommend Pawan’s services. He is very reliable and knows a lot about Nepal and the routes we took. We did an unforgettable trip to Mardi Himal in May 2023. Nepal is a safe, peaceful, and very friendly place. Beautiful scenery, incredible mountains.

We were a team of four from London, three of us in our 50s and my 24-year-old son. The trek was 5 days days from Pokhara. A lot of ups and downs to reaching Mardi High Camp. The scenery is fantastic, we go through nice small villages and can see their real life, school kids, farm workers, shepherds with goats, buffalos, sheep, and donkeys carrying all types of loads up the mountains. In May the weather was mild, and hot during the daytime, especially at low altitudes. At ABC the temperature was below zero at night, but as soon as the sunrises and you start walking you just need a T-shirt.

We woke up at high camp at sunrise to see the huge peaks all around us in the clear blue sky. Superb! Poonhill cannot be missed either, a wonderful view at sunrise too.

If you need additional information for your trekking, I’ll be glad to help.

Thanks a lot to the entire team for great support.
